The Indian team lost the first T20 by 21 runs, but won the second match by six wickets to level the series at 1-1. Batting first, New Zealand scored 99 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. India achieved the target of 100 runs with one ball to spare.

This was the Kiwi team's lowest score in T20 against India. In response, Team India achieved the target by losing four wickets with one ball remaining. Suryakumar Yadav won the match by hitting the fifth ball of the 20th over of the Indian innings for a four. With this victory, the three-match T20I series is now level at 1-1. The decisive match will be played on February 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.


Captain Mitchell Santner scored the most unbeaten 19 runs from New Zealand. At the same time, Michael Bracewell and Mark Chapman played 14-14 innings. Finn Allen and Devon Conway scored 11-11 runs. Arshdeep Singh took the maximum two wickets from India. At the same time, Suryakumar Yadav scored the most unbeaten 26 runs from India. At the same time, Ishaan Kishan played an inning of 19 runs. Captain Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten after scoring 15 runs. Bracewell and Sodhi got one wicket each for New Zealand.

 The biggest partnership in the match for New Zealand was between Allen and Conway of 21 runs. At the same time, the biggest partnership from India was between Suryakumar and Hardik. Both played an unbeaten partnership of 30 runs. No six was hit by both the teams in this match. A total of 239 balls were bowled including both the innings without hitting a six. This is the highest in international T20. Earlier, 238 balls were bowled without a six in Mirpur in 2021 between Bangladesh and New Zealand.
